With his father’s company and the family it represents in danger of falling apart, Stephen Maxwell has to decide if he wants to set aside the anger he feels for his estranged father, to help get the company back on track or walk away. Nothing prepares him from the attraction he feels for the Senior VP of Duncan Enterprises. Sparks fly between them but Angie won’t give her up hard won position or her heart to Stephen. They have to work together to figure out how to save the company but they don’t trust either other at all!
This was one of this author’s better stories. I love the billionaire brothers’ story line. The plot was interesting, the story moved along pretty well and the ending was wrapped up very nicely. Can’t wait for Gabe and Nathan’s stories.

I have to say, this is not one of my favorites. For me, it was too much drama. Waaaay too much drama. Now, if you like that kind of thing, this book is for you.
First, you have Gabe, the middle child, who has been with the company forever. He is never acknowledged by his father, Duncan, who owns the company. He is overlooked for the position of Senior VP by Angie Lopez, a woman who isn’t even related to the Maxfield’s.
Next, there is Stephen, the eldest, who has a business of his own to run, Maxfield Construction. Gabe calls Stephen to help with Duncan Enterprises and when he does get there, there is tension between them. And on top of that, Duncan Enterprises out bids Stephen on about 75% of his contracts, so his business is not as strong as it should be. Would he really want to help save a company that takes his business??
And last, there is Nathan, the youngest. He has a double major in Environmental Science and Design. He wants the company to go green and every time he mentions this to his brothers, they never take him seriously. The brothers each have their own ideas on how to save the company, but are unwilling to work together for a solution.
Then you add in the addition of a woman, Angie Lopez, a very strong woman and that makes even more drama. She has been with the company for ten years and is trying to save the company.
So, where is the romance story? When I read a romance story, I want to read about a romance. Yes, there is instant attraction between Stephen and Angie. Yes, there are sexy parts in the book, but I just didn’t feel the connection between the two. There was hardly any dialog between them except for when they were arguing about the company and whether or not she wanted to go “public” with their relationship. It does have a HEA, which is a plus.

Could barely skim fast enough after the half-way point of this book. Author appeared more interested in getting enough words together to call it a book with very little story development.
This book was ok not one of her best but since I started I want to read the next installment.
Would history repeat itself or would love rule the day. Duncan Mayfield is sabotaging his own company which he has come to despise. He thinks this company has robbed him of love - his wife dying, his nonexistence in his sons' lives as young boys growing up and distance as adult men. After three heart attacks he feels he has a right to try an right his destructive past. Summoned by their brother Gabe to try and salvage their father's company, Stephen, the eldest and Nathan, the youngest have come to find out who is behind the destruction and to keep the company from being dispersed into sections. Along the way, Stephen and the lovely Senior VP, Angela Lopez find love, but can it survive the tempers, deceit, lies and interference that would break any relationship? In the end Angela confronts Duncan which challenges him to rethink his destructive demise of his company and leave his sons to work together to make the company thrive along with surrendering to her love for Stephen.
This is a very good book. I always enjoy a Leslie North book. This book had a lot of drama along with sexual content. I highly recommend this book.
